 2016 Preview 


       New Hope completed the 2015 season with a 7-5 record. Last year New Hope captured the region seven title and a number one seed in the Class 3A playoffs. They finished region play with a 5-2 record. New Hope reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Lauderdale County by a score of 48-0.

       Since 2010, New Hope has gone a combined 32-31. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 3A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, New Hope has managed to compile a record of 108-149. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 3A and 257th in the AHSAA.

       The Indians are led by head coach Randall Taylor who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 32-31 over the past six seasons at New Hope. Under his direction the Indians have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Taylor.

       Coach Taylor's overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 32-31 (50.8%).

       The New Hope Indians will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2016 season.

       The Indians should be in contention for a playoff spot in region seven this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Indians open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Westminster Christian on Friday, August 19 at Jack Mitchell Stadium. Last year the Westminster Christian Wildcats finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in sixth place in Class 4A region seven. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over New Hope by a score of 21-7 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       New Hope and Westminster Christian have met a total of 8 times on the football field. The Indians have a 1-7-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2015 with Westminster Christian winning by a score of 21-7.
